Le 19 septembre 1981 restera à jamais gravé dans l’inconscient collectif de nombre admirateurs de la musique folk américaine : c’est en effet à cette date qu’eut lieu l’un des concerts les plus célèbres de tous les temps, celui de Paul Simon et de Art Garfunkel sur la pelouse de Central Park à New York, gazon martelé par les semelles d’un demi-million d’admirateurs (record d’affluence) et diffusé trop rarement sur les télévisions du monde entier. C’est peu de dire que l’on attendait le DVD de ce magnifique moment musical, et plus de vingt ans après, c’est enfin chose faite : quel bonheur de retrouver, avec une image brillante et un son à couper le souffle, les airs tour à tour entraînants et mélancoliques de « Wake up Little Susie« , « Mrs Robinson« , « Scarborough Fair« , « Bridge over Troubled Water« , « Sound of silence« … À consommer sans modération. –David Rault

La plus-value par rapport au CD audio est faible. Le film est moyen & il n’y a même pas de sous-titrage…

Je connaissais Simon & Garfunkel par les CD que je possède mais je ne les avais jamais vu en concert (je veux dire en Spectacle ou en Gala). Ce DVD est magnifique, il n’a pas pris une seule ride, on croirait qu’il a lieu cet été. Dommage qu’on ne les voit plus aussi souvent à la Télé et qu’on ne les entendent pratiquement plus à la radio. Leurs chansons sont magnifiques et leur interprétations sensationnelles. J’aimerais qu’ils se remettent ensemble pour faire un nouvel album. En attendant acheter ce DVD tellement merveilleux. Ce spectacle à Central Park est sensationnel (Je dis bien ce spectacle car je n’aime pas le mot « Concert » qui est mal utilisé par le milieu du spectacle. Spectacle ou Gala me semble plus vrai, plus naturel. Le mot « Concert » ne devrait être utilisé que pour la musique classique, où l’on joue avec des instruments de musique et seulement avec des instruments. Mais de toute façon ce DVD doit faire parti de votre collection.

un superbe concert en plein air avec les titres phares de Simon et Garfunkel dont les chansons du film « le Lauréat ». Un régal pour les groupies ayant eu 20 ans en 1970, et aussi pour les autres.
